‘Twas the night before playoffs, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…
Tomorrow the journey to the Stanley Cup begins!
Just typing that gives me the chills.
Some of y’all reading might not quite understand that, so watch this….
If that doesn’t give you the chills or make you smile, then you should just stop reading. Seriously, the rest of this post will mean nothing to you.
As a former athlete, those kind of moments hit home with me. Playoff anything….championship anything….really anything competitive ignites my inner athlete, and can’t help but feel the emotion the players feel or are about to feel during that journey. It is just so cool. I love everything about it. I might not be playing, but I can tell you I am in the second best spot. I get to stand right by my hubby through all of it, and get to experience it first hand as his number one fan and support system!
Now, I have to be honest…I have never really thought about the possibility of Jeff winning a stanley cup, or the true excitement of this “new season.” I mean I have thought about it, but nothing below the surface because Jeff has never been in playoffs.
Now, for the first time in his 5 year career as a professional hockey player he is going to the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!
Playoffs are the beginning of a new season. It is when they truly have the opportunity to chase one of their biggest dreams. For a hockey player, that dream starts with an 82 regular game season and then four rounds of playoffs with the ultimate goal being able to lift the Stanley Cup above their head with pride!
For that to even be a possibility for Jeff and his team this year is incredible. And, I could not be more excited to be right by his side cheering him on along the way.
It is so real now, and it all starts tomorrow!
GO HABS GO!!!!
